PAES lab for Work Readiness

A PAES Lab (Practical Assessment Exploration System) is a structured career exploration and transition assessment environment used by schools and service providers to help individuals develop work readiness skills and explore career interests.

Participants complete real work tasks across multiple career areas while instructors evaluate workplace behaviors and task performance.

In a PAES lab environment, participants become employees and instructors serve as supervisors. Employees rotate through multiple work areas during scheduled lab periods where they complete job assignments and receive performance feedback.

Work behaviors such as productivity, responsibility, and task completion are recorded and used to support transition planning and employment preparation.

PAES Labs expose participants to multiple career areas including business tasks, production work, consumer service tasks, construction activities, and computer-related work.

PAES formative assessment reports are provided for each individual student including work readiness data and assessment of employment potential.

If you are considering implementing a PAES Lab in your program, the best next step is to see how the system works.
